Join Jim and Greg as they once again offer bad and crazy martinis. First, they fume over upcoming changes to mortgage fees that will force homebuyers with really good credit scores to pay more so that buyers with shaky credit scores have lower costs. They also shake their heads as once again the Biden State Department is caught off guard by a civil war where it’s too late to evacuate Americans – this time in Sudan. Finally, as 14 percent of Americans who voted for President Biden last time now support Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Jim unloads on Kennedy and explains why his candidacy is not good for America.

House Hearings Expose Infuriating Truths on COVID, Afghanistan
Listen to “House Hearings Expose Infuriating Truth on COVID, Afghanistan” on Spreaker.
You might need something stronger than a martini as Jim and Greg dig into three big stories today. First, they respond to the congressional testimony of former CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield, who said our top officials knew from the start that COVID likely came from a lab leak and then knowingly pushed a false narrative that the virus naturally occurred. And the maddening truth doesn’t stop there. Then they tackle the gut-wrenching testimony of a U.S. Marine Corps sniper stationed at Abbey Gate on the day of the terrorist attack during the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews says he and others had the bomber spotted and were ready to take him out but they never had permission to fire. And his frustration grew even more when no one in our government wanted to hear his story. Finally, Jim dissects California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s condemnation of Walgreen’s for refusing to sell abortion-inducing drugs in states where the retailer might get sued. Jim explains how Newsom frequently ignores the most basic responsibilities of governing and how he tries to distract his constituents from his terrible record.
And They Wonder Why We Don’t Trust Government
Listen to “And They Wonder Why We Don’t Trust Government” on Spreaker.
Join Jim and Greg as they give credit to the New York Times for admitting that mask mandates accomplished nothing, either for individuals or larger communities. It did lead to lot of angry confrontations, and apparently our government officials have learned nothing. They also discuss the growing media attention to the toxic train accident in Ohio and how government response to a crisis is often proportional to the amount of media coverage a story gets. Finally, they hammer the Defense Department and the Air Force for releasing the confidential military files of Republican lawmakers and candidates to opposition research firms working with Democrats.

Natural Immunity Vindicated, Equity vs. Honors Classes, GOP Losers Running Again?
Join Jim and Greg offer a quick update on yesterday’s Don Lemon saga before serving up their three martinis for the day. First, they welcome new studies from the Lancet and beyond showing people who developed natural immunity from a bout with COVID did just as well as the vaccinated against future cases and that natural immunity was stronger against reinfection than the jab. Those who demanded getting shots to keep your job or just be part of society will sure to file this news in the memory hole as quickly as possible. They also unload at the California school district that decided to end high school honors classes in English because they were not diverse enough. Jim explains why those school officials took exactly the wrong course of action. Finally, react to several flawed and failed GOP House and Senate candidates from last year gearing up to run again.

GOP Targets IRS, The Gas Stove Backlash, Airline Agony
Listen to “GOP Targets IRS, The Gas Stove Backlash, Airline Agony” on Spreaker.
Join Jim and Greg as they serve up two good martinis and a very bad one. First, they cheer House Republicans for making good on their promise to pass legislation repealing funding for 87,000 new IRS agents and building a campaign issue against every Democrat who voted against it – which was all of them. They also shudder at the Biden administration’s attempts to demonize gas stoves as increasing the odds of developing asthma and other ailments, but they are glad to see the intense pushback that appears to have forced the government to back down. Jim also notes an annoying and tedious tactic employed by Democrats on issues like this. Finally, they not only wonder about the health of our aviation sector after today’s major computer problem triggered a ground stop across the nation, but are increasingly sure Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg is simply not up to the job.
