House Dems Blame Game, Pennsylvania Dems Defy Court, Trumps Picks RFK Jr. for HHS

November 15, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “House Dems’ Blame Game, Pennsylvania Dems Defy Court, Trumps Picks RFK Jr. for HHS” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack some House Democrats blaming their leader for GOP election wins, local Pennsylvania Democrats disregarding court orders to aid Sen. Bob Casey, and Donald Trump choosing Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to run the Department of Health and Human Services.

First, Jim and Greg enjoy the fireworks as some House progressives accuse Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of causing Republican victories by failing to convince President Biden to step aside sooner. The lefties further lament that former Speaker Nancy Pelosi had to push Biden out of the race. Jim and Greg dissect why this narrative is far-fetched but relish watching Democrats openly battle over election blame.

Next, they express disbelief as local Democrats in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, flagrantly defy a state Supreme Court order prohibiting the counting of certain invalid ballots. One commissioner even declared on camera that legal precedent no longer matters. Jim and Greg expose the hypocrisy of Democrats claiming to be defenders of democracy while blatantly ignoring the rule of law.

Finally, they analyze President-Elect Trump’s decision to nominate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. While Kennedy could champion important reforms, they raise concerns over his pro-abortion stance, his potential priorities, and even more political capital being spent over a cabinet fight.

SCOTUS Sides with Virginia, Biden’s ‘Garbage’ Comments, Dems’ Ugly Effort to Attract Women

October 30, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “SCOTUS Sides with Virginia, Biden’s ‘Garbage’ Comments, Dems’ Ugly Effort to Attract Women” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they delve into the Supreme Court’s sensible ruling on Virginia’s voter rolls, President Biden referring to Trump supporters as “garbage,” and a new left-wing ad urging women to defy their spouses and vote for Kamala Harris..

First, they commend the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to support Virginia’s removal of non-citizens from voter rolls. Despite the Biden administration’s lawsuit and two lower courts siding with the DOJ, Jim and Greg argue that removing non-citizens, those who have moved, or the deceased is a matter of common sense. For some reason, the left disagrees.

Next, they analyze President Biden’s remarks, in which he sharply criticized jokes about Puerto Rico at a recent Trump rally and described Trump supporters as “garbage.” The media’s quick attempts to soften Biden’s statement, even blaming his stutter, leave Jim and Greg amused as they dissect the messaging chaos.

Finally, they discuss a new ad from Vote Common Good, narrated by Julia Roberts, which suggests that many women vote Republican only because of pressure from their Trump-loving husbands. The ad encourages women to secretly vote for Harris without informing their spouses. Jim suggests that anyone who can’t openly discuss their vote with their spouse has bigger issues than the election, while he and Greg explore what the ad reveals about Democrats.

Kamala Ghosts Biden, Comedian’s Trump Rally Controversy, Michelle Obama Berates Men

October 28, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala Ghosts Biden, Comedian’s Trump Rally Controversy, Michelle Obama Berates Men” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg on 3 Martini Lunch as they unpack the friction between Joe Biden’s offer to campaign for Kamala Harris and the Harris team’s resistance, the potential fallout of a comedian’s controversial comments at the Trump rally, and Michelle Obama’s unpersuasive scolding of men who won’t vote for Harris.

First, after briefly lamenting how their NFL teams squandered late leads on Sunday, they enjoy the Harris campaign’s never-ending awkwardness over Joe Biden. Harris can’t think of a thing she would have done differently than Biden but insists she’ll be different. Now, as Biden wants to hit the campaign trail for Kamala, her advisers want nothing to do with him.

Next, Jim and Greg analyze comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial jokes at a Trump rally in New York City. From comments on Puerto Ricans, Latinos, and black people, they discuss the backlash and potential fallout. With the media spotlight on these remarks, they explore how this could affect close races like the U.S. Senate seat in Florida, where GOP Sen. Rick Scott strongly condemned the jokes.

Finally, they slam the Harris campaign for its abortion obsession over the final days of the campaign. And Jim rips former First Lady Michelle Obama for scolding men with lines like, “Are you as men prepared to look into the eyes of the women and children you love and tell them you supported this assault on our safety?” Jim also points out the Obamas’ constant and tiresome disappointment with the American people.

Three Martinis with Michele Tafoya: Her Life in Sports, Politics in Sports, Trans Athletes, Gov. Walz

October 23, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Three Martinis with Michele Tafoya: Her Life in Sports, Politics in Sports, Trans Athletes, Gov. Walz” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they welcome longtime, Emmy-winning sports reporter Michele Tafoya. Best known for her work as a sideline reporter on Monday Night Football and Sunday Night Football, Tafoya is now a political commentator and host of the Michele Tafoya Podcast. In this episode, they dive into her most memorable sports moments, her views on the intersection of politics and sports, the controversy surrounding transgender athletes, her experience living in Minnesota under Gov. Tim Walz and more.

First, the conversation kicks off with Michele Tafoya’s rise in sports journalism. From her major career breakthroughs to the challenges of interviewing uncooperative coaches and players, Tafoya shares insights from her time as a sports reporter. She recounts some of her favorite on-field moments, the sports personalities who were easy and tough to work with, and a hilarious story from an NCAA tournament game she was covering in the 1990s.

Next, they focus on politics, including how Tafoya evolved from a left-leaning graduate of Cal Berkeley to a conservative. She also touches on the impact of politics getting injected into sports coverage and how some members of the sports media see themselves as political and cultural activists.

Finally, Tafoya speaks out against the participation of biological men in women’s sports. She shares her thoughts on how this is fundamentally unfair and is affecting female athletes and the integrity of women’s sports. In addition, Tafoya opens up about living under the leadership of Gov. Tim Walz in Minnesota and her perspective on the political expectation that she should support Kamala Harris simply because she is a woman.

Israel Spills Hezbollah Secret, Cracks in Kamala’s Blue Wall, Abortion Surges as Key Issue

October 22, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Israel Spills Hezbollah Secret, Cracks in Kamala’s Blue Wall, Abortion Surges as Key Issue” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they offer two good martinis and a lousy one. Today, they discuss Israel’s creative, non-violent strategy against Hezbollah, Kamala Harris’s team fretting over key “blue wall” states, and how abortion has re-emerged as a leading issue in the 2024 campaign.

First, they break down Israel’s clever tactic of outing a Hezbollah bunker hidden beneath a hospital in Beirut. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) publicly announced the location and stated there was a lot of money and gold stored there. Jim and Greg explain why this is a brilliant move that puts Hezbollah in a tough position. They also have fun speculating on which Hollywood movie this situation resembles most.

Next, Jim highlights his “Morning Jolt” report about the Harris campaign’s concerns in battleground states. They reveal that Michigan, North Carolina, and Wisconsin are causing serious worry for Democrats. Greg and Jim explain why Harris is struggling in Michigan and urge conservatives to focus on voter turnout, rather than being distracted by political betting odds.

Finally, they react to Newsweek’s report that abortion is now the second most important issue for voters. While the economy still holds the top spot and immigration is close behind, abortion’s prominence is seen as a political advantage for Democrats. Meanwhile, Republicans continue to fumble for a cohesive message. Jim and Greg also share their thoughts on some of the most absurd arguments Democrats are making against Trump.

Dems’ Pennsylvania Panic, Big Tech Embraces Nuclear, Kamala & the Middle East

October 18, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Dems’ Pennsylvania Panic, Big Tech Embraces Nuclear, Kamala & the Middle East” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg for a special edition of the 3 Martini Lunch as they serve up two good martinis, a crazy one, and some fun to celebrate the podcast’s 14-year anniversary. Today, they discuss Democrats’ growing fears in Pennsylvania, Big Tech’s newfound support for nuclear energy, and Kamala Harris’s mixed messaging after the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

First, they dive into a Politico story about Democratic unease in Pennsylvania. Longtime Democratic operatives are anonymously criticizing the Harris campaign’s efforts in the state. They also note how Sen. Bob Casey is airing ads highlighting the rare occasions he sided with Trump or against Biden. Greg also shares the increasingly desperate fundraising emails landing in his inbox as the election looms.

Next, they applaud Big Tech’s shift toward nuclear power, with companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon aggressively pursuing it to power data centers and other projects. Meanwhile, Jim slams the left for its irrational opposition to nuclear energy, which has stalled progress since the 1979 Three Mile Island incident and set back the nation’s energy potential for decades.

Then, they credit Kamala Harris for saying a lot of the right things in her response to the death of Hamas military leader Yahya Sinwar, but they cringe big time at her insistence that this should lead to the creation of a Palestinian state. Jim says the message that would send to the world would be devastating.

Finally, Jim and Greg celebrate 14 years of the 3 Martini Lunch podcast with a recap of Jim’s best quips from recent months and a flashback to their all-time favorite moment on the podcast.

Serving Up Courage in Women’s Sports, Ugly Updated Crime Stats, Kamala Going Rogan?

October 16, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Serving Up Courage in Women’s Sports, Ugly Updated Crime Stats, Kamala Going Rogan?” on Spreaker.

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, Scot and I discuss more female college athletes refusing to complete against males, violent crime statistics getting revised upward significantly, and Kamala staffers pushing her to go on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

First, they applaud the University of Nevada women’s volleyball team for refusing to compete against San Jose State due to safety concerns over a biological male on the opposing team. Nevada becomes the fifth Mountain West Conference team to boycott San Jose State. Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo supports the players, while the university issues a much less clear response.

Next, we break down the revised 2022 violent crime statistics, which reveal many more violent crimes than originally reported. Scot now questions the accuracy of 2023 crime data, and both express frustration with weak prosecutors who continue to release violent criminals, leading to repeat offenses.

Lastly, they discuss the amusing reports of Kamala Harris’ staff pushing her to appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Scot explains why this interview would be a disaster for Harris, and they reflect on how the left very recently demonized Rogan as a danger to society.

DeSantis in Command, Dems’ Hypocrisy on Accepting Elections, Emhoff’s Bad Behavior

October 11, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “DeSantis in Command, Dems’ Hypocrisy on Accepting Elections, Emhoff’s Bad Behavior” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they discuss the outstanding leadership of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis during hurricane season, the laughable double standards among Democrats when it comes to accepting election results, and the allegations of despicable behavior against Doug Emhoff.

First, they’re impressed with how Gov. DeSantis is coordinating the state’s hurricane response, his mastery of hurricane history to dispel arguments that climate change is responsible for the recent storms, and his common sense policies for getting Floridians back on their feet as quickly as possible after the storm.

Next, they share a good laugh at the hypocrisy displayed by some House Democrats. Despite being harsh critics of Trump’s rejection of the 2020 election results, these Democrats are now hesitant to commit to certifying a Trump victory in 2024, claiming they would need to “make sure all the rules have been followed.” But if Republicans say that, they are an existential threat to democracy.

Finally, they delve into the troubling allegations surrounding Doug Emhoff, Kamala Harris’s husband. Emhoff has already admitted to ending his first marriage after an affair with the family nanny, whom he impregnated. More recent accusations suggest that he slapped an ex-girlfriend in public and exhibited misogynistic behavior toward women in his law firm, raising serious concerns about his character.

Kamala Confirms No Gaps with Biden, Finally Facing Tough Questions, GOP Senate Momentum

October 8, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala Confirms No Gaps with Biden, Finally Facing Tough Questions, GOP Senate Momentum” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis. Today, they discuss Kamala Harris confirming she and Joe Biden had no major policy differences, Harris getting some tough questions frfrom “60 Minutes”, and Republicans gaining ground in three critical Midwest Senate races. Oh, and of course Jim has a couple of thoughts about the New York Jets firing their head coach.

First, they react to Kamala Harris telling the ladies on “The View” that “there’s not a thing that comes to mind” when asked whether there was anything she would have done differently than President Biden. She also says she was a part of every major decision Biden made. Jim says this completely ties her to Biden’s unpopular record and he is stunned she didn’t come up with a single difference.

Next, they applaud Bill Whitaker of “60 Minutes” for asking Kamala Harris tough questions and good follow-up questions, especially on the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis. Jim and Greg also critique Harris’s word salad responses, as she tried to deflect blame onto Republicans while struggling to defend the administration’s failures on immigration.

Finally, Jim and Greg discuss the momentum shift in three key Senate races. With only four weeks left in the campaign, Republicans are gaining ground in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. Wisconsin is now considered a toss-up, Ohio polling shows a dead heat, and Michigan is within the margin of error, signaling that the GOP could make critical gains in these battleground states.

Kamala Wants to Kill the Filibuster, Harris Keeps Hedging, Kamala Rewards Ruhle

September 25, 2024 by GregC

Listen to “Kamala Wants to Kill the Filibuster, Harris Keeps Hedging, Kamala Rewards Ruhle” on Spreaker.

Join Jim and Greg as they serve up all bad and crazy martinis. Today, they discuss Kamala Harris wanting to kill the Senate filibuster to codify Roe v. Wade, her ongoing refusal to confirm whether she still holds the same positions on several controversial issues, and MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle landing an interview with Harris just days after publicly saying that Harris doesn’t need to answer tough questions because Donald Trump is such a threat to our nation.

First, they dive into the vice president’s call to suspend the Senate filibuster to codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema  – the one-time Democrats who prevented their colleagues from killing the filibuster in the previous Congress – immediately denounced the idea. Jim and Greg explain why ending the filibuster would set a dangerous precedent, ultimately allowing Democrats to dismantle it for all legislative priorities.

They then shift to Harris’s refusal to confirm whether her views on controversial issues like the death penalty, citizenship for some illegal immigrants, and decriminalizing sex work have changed. Despite repeated questions, the Vice President also avoids discussing her stance on a California ballot initiative that would increase penalties for minor theft and drug crimes. Jim and Greg not only blast her for trying to obscure her radical positions, but somehow wind up venting about Democrats – and a few Republicans – who failed to keep their word back in the ’80s and ’90s.

Finally, they roll their eyes as MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle lands an interview with Harris just days after Ruhle went on “Real Time with Bill Maher” and said Harris didn’t need to answer tough questions or clarify policy positions because Trump is so horrible that voting for Harris was an obvious choice. Could this interview be anything other than an Oprah-style campaign ad?
