Join Jim and Greg as they welcome decisions from the newly right-leaning North Carolina Supreme Court restoring Voter ID requirements in the state and restoring the congressional map that the former left-leaning court tossed out for political reasons. They also fume as an illegal immigrant kills five people and wounds others in Texas, especially after learning the killer was deported five times from 2009-2016. And they question why ABC News decided to profile Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who is best known for his controversial views on vaccines, only to censor his opinions on vaccines.

Listen to “Confronting Weingarten’s Lies, Justice Jumps In, Thiel Sitting Out 2024” on Spreaker.
Join Jim and Greg as they serve up three good martinis to close out the week! First, they cheer CNN contributor Scott Jennings for calmly but firmly confronting American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten over her absurd lies that she was pushing harder than anyone to reopen schools in the midst of the pandemic when she was loudly persistent in keeping them closed. They also welcome the news that West Virginia GOP Gov. Jim Justice is running for U.S. Senate in 2024, giving Republicans their best chance yet to knock off Sen. Joe Manchin or maybe even convince him not to run for re-election. Finally, they welcome the news that Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel is planning to sit out the 2024 cycle after backing and bankrolling multiple weak candidates in the midterms.

It’s Chad Benson’s last day sitting in for Greg, and he and Jim are pleasantly surprised that the House GOP held together on a debt ceiling bill, and there are some rumblings that Kevin McCarthy might be better at being speaker than anybody expected.
Today also brings a pretty lousy U.S. GDP number, raising questions of just how the U.S. economy is performing.
Finally, while it’s not unusual for former government officials to make a bundle in the private sector, it’s less than idea to see tetired Army Gen. Keith Alexander, who led the National Security Agency, making $700,000 on a contract advising the Saudi Arabian government.

It’s another good, bad, and crazy day, as Chad Benson sits in for Greg Corombos again.
Chad and Jim Geraghty find it hilarious that the city of San Francisco concluded that after six years, their boycott of red states has had no impact whatsoever on those states, has significantly increased costs and red tape for the city, and repealed the boycott.
Meanwhile, it’s good that an ISIS mastermind who killed Americans during the withdrawal from Afghanistan was killed, but Chad and Jim wonder how the Taliban found that terrorist before the U.S. did.
Finally, the White House is formulating an official strategy to rebuild Kamala Harris’ image, which is a crazy thing for an 80-year-old president to have on his to-do list as he’s trying to convince America for four more years.

Chad Benson in for Greg Corombos with Jim Geraghty of National Review.
GOOD: Good riddance, Don Lemon.
BAD: Yup, Joe Biden is running for another term. Besides the fact that we oppose his policies, it is a very bad idea for an 80-year-old man to be a possibility for a second term and ending his presidency at age 86.
CRAZY: Either indict, or don’t indict. Don’t announce “we may indict, and thus we’re asking law enforcement to make preparations,” as Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis just did.

Join Jim and Greg for four martinis today, as they begin with the breaking news that Tucker Carlson and Fox News Channel are going their separate ways effective immediately. Then it’s on to the regularly scheduled martinis, starting with both the Wall Street Journal and New York Times raising the alarm about Biden running for a second term at his age and mental state. The Journal says Biden is in “obvious decline.” Then they shudder at a Washington Post story revealing the Islamic State has a home in Afghanistan and his actively plotting attacks in Asia and Europe and is doing aspirational plotting against the United States. Finally, they discuss the frenzied damage control at Anheuser-Busch after losing billions in market share after celebrating the “womanhood” of transgender figure Dylan Mulvaney.

Join Jim and Greg as they once again offer bad and crazy martinis. First, they fume over upcoming changes to mortgage fees that will force homebuyers with really good credit scores to pay more so that buyers with shaky credit scores have lower costs. They also shake their heads as once again the Biden State Department is caught off guard by a civil war where it’s too late to evacuate Americans – this time in Sudan. Finally, as 14 percent of Americans who voted for President Biden last time now support Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Jim unloads on Kennedy and explains why his candidacy is not good for America.
