Join Jim and Greg as they react to Kamala Harris accepting the Democratic nomination on Thursday night. They examine her promise to be a president who will always put country over party, her vow to create an economy of opportunity, and her approach to the Middle East and other national security issues.
First, they note how the Harris campaign is trying to replay the Obama strategy of staying vague on policy and denouncing the intense political rancor and division that she has been aggressively inflaming for the past eight years.  The problem for Harris is that her record of far-left policies and partisan rhetoric is far more extensive than Obama’s was in 2008.
Next, they contrast Kamala’s call for an “economic opportunity” agenda with her many earlier statements about the need for equity and “equal outcomes.” They also mention her disingenuous stance on immigration and the border crisis and explain how one aspect of Thursday’s convention story is a perfect metaphor for the left’s rhetoric vs. the left’s actions.
Finally, they dig into Harris speaking on the Middle East crisis, as she delivered the most intense administration denunciation of the Hamas terrorist attacks in months – and then turned around and insisted there needs to be a Palestinian state.

Jon Gabriel, the Undisputed King of Stuff and columnist for Discourse magazine and the Arizona Republic is in for Jim. Today, Jon and Greg remember daytime talk show host Phil Donahue, get a kick out of Democrats inching away from Kamala’s price control plans, condemn Planned Parenthood for offering free abortions and vasectomies near the Democratic National Convention, and react to Democrats not wanting any policy specifics from Kamala Harris until after the election. And they share what they wish Joe Biden would say in his convention speech tonight.
First, they offer a quick remembrance of Phil Donahue, the far left daytime talk show host who nonetheless wanted to have substantive conversations with people he disagreed with.
Next, they enjoy watching Democrats like Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer squirm when asked to defend the price controls on food proposed by Kamala Harris. They also stress what a terrible idea it is to think the government should be tasked with solving  inflation problem with more intervention.
Then, they recoil in horror as Planned Parenthood offers to provide free abortions and vasectomies at its mobile clinic near the Dems’ convention site. Worse yet, the schedule for both filled up quickly. Greg and Jon express their disgust at how cavalierly the left discards precious human life and how it uses that disdain to push forward its political agenda.
Finally, they examine the Dems being perfectly happy to let Kamala avoid specifics on issues until after the election. It shows how afraid they are if voters know just how radical their agenda. They also look ahead to President Biden’s convention speech tonight – both what it probably will include and what they really, really wish he would say about the intraparty plot to end his re-election bid.

Instead, they highlight how Kamala Harris is trying to gaslight Americans about why everything costs so much, the details surrounding Tim Walz’s drunk driving arrest back in the ’90s, and a Secret Service agent found missing from her post just moments before Trump’s arrival at a rally in North Carolina.

First, they note Vice President Harris, just like President Biden, is blaming high prices on greedy, gouging companies instead of their reckless spending and other inflationary policies. They give Harris a quick review of why costs skyrocketed in the first couple years of the Biden-Harris administration and why demonizing corporate America is not going to help at all.

Next, they dig into the details of Tim Walz’s 1995 drunk driving arrest for going 96 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. In addition to documenting that Walz lied about it as recently as his 2006 congressional campaign. Jim also points to the final days of the 2000 presidential election to prove that drunk driving arrests can cause serious problems many years later.

Finally, they groan as a Secret Service agent was discovered to be away from her post without permission just minutes before Donald Trump arrived for a rally because she was breastfeeding her baby. While they love kids, Jim and Greg don’t think bringing kids to your protective detail is a very good idea. And they are stunned that anyone in the Secret Service would be cutting any corners right now.

Today, they react to media reports that Kamala’s campaign is doctoring media headlines in online ads, Harris trying to politically reinvent herself as the change candidate in 2024, and the media realizing it’s now OK to admit Hunter Biden was up to his eyeballs in shady foreign deals due to his name and access to his dad.

First, they fume at an Axios story explaining that the Harris campaign created fake headlines under the banner of real media outlets like Reuters, USA Today, and CBS News. The reporter who broke the story then immediately tried to downplay it and the media entities involved hardly seem to care.

Next, they roll their eyes at another Axios report explaining how Kamala Harris is jettisoning some of her most far left positions and distancing herself from Joe Biden as part of her sprint to November. She’s even trying to position herself as the “change candidate” after four years in the current administration. And why? Because Americans overwhelmingly don’t like the direction our country is headed.

Finally, they note multiple headlines noting that Special Counsel David Weiss and the State Department’s own records reveal evidence of Hunter Biden influence peddling overseas – in one case he was paid to directly lobby for Romania while Joe Biden was vice president. Jim wants to know where to go for his award on being right about this story, President Biden’s decline, and so many other stories initially branded as misinformation…until they could no longer be denied.

Today, after a quick update on baseball and another member of “The Squad” losing to a fellow Democrat, Scot and Greg groan over the media’s predictable infatuation with Tim Walz, detail just how draconian Walz was in his COVID lockdown enforcement, and how California’s plastic bag ban led to way more plastic bag trash.

First, they roll their eyes as the mainstream media not only carry the Democrats’ narrative on Tim Walz but they all immediately start using the term “folksy” to describe him. The shameless obedience to the left’s talking points is hardly a surprise but the contrast with how reporters characterized JD Vance a few weeks ago is rather stark.

Next, they dig into just how authoritarian Gov. Walz was in Minnesota during his aggressive COVID lockdowns – including how his government set up a snitch line so that people throughout the state could rat out their neighbors for such reckless behavior as walking their dog, playing basketball, and trying the keep their business open.

Finally, they get a kick out of lefties in California wanting a “do over” on a plastic bag ban after the first one led to a massive increase in the amount of plastic bags in the trash.

They also dissect the Trump-Harris spat over when and where to debate, and they roll their eyes as Nancy Pelosi suggests that President Biden belongs on Mount Rushmore.

First, they note the plunging markets worldwide and the various factors that seem to be playing into it. Then they dive into a new CBS News/YouGov poll examining what impact voters think Trump and Harris would have on their personal finances, the border, and much more.

Then, they dive into the back-and-forth between Trump and Harris as they fight over the terms of any upcoming debates. Trump says he’s agreed to one with Fox News and is not going to appear at the second debate he originally scheduled with Joe Biden. Harris accuses Trump of running scared and won’t do the Fox News event. So as of now, there is no debate scheduled. Will that change and who stands to benefit most by having at least one?

Finally, they laugh as Nancy Pelosi tells CBS Sunday Morning that Joe Biden’s “consequential” presidency merits his addition to Mount Rushmore. They explain how the American people already rendered a clear verdict on Biden’s time and how Pelosi is furiously trying to remove her fingerprints from the successful campaign to end Biden’s re-election campaign.

First, they open with a conversation about Trump’s choice of Sen.  Vance as his running mate. They weigh the pros and cons that might come with this decision and touch on other notable aspects of the Republican National Convention.

Next, they raise their eyebrows as Sec. Mayorkas claims that he has 100% confidence in Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, despite the agency’s failure to stop the would-be Trump assassin from shooting. Greg recalls one of Trump’s noteworthy lines from the debate: what does it take, in this administration, to get fired?

Finally, they review Biden’s NBC interview, in which he makes no effort to walk back the incendiary rhetoric he has used against Trump, and once again showcases his mental decline. They close with the breaking news that New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez has been convicted on all counts, and Jim looks forward to the next corrupt Democrat who will take his place.

It’s an all-crazy day as Jim and Greg discuss the unhinged political intolerance of a former mainstream media reporter, professors withholding grades over the consequences for anti-Israel protests, & tortured language and logic at the Pentagon over our policy in Gaza.
First, they sigh as former NBC News and CNN reporter Michelle Kosinski goes on a Twitter rant about how she is “haunted” by a dinner she had with people she refers to as “closeted MAGAts.” Why? Because some were Ivy League grads who didn’t want to send their kids there and others disagreed with the left’s climate change narrative.
Next, they rip the faculty members at the University of North Carolina who are threatening not to turn in end-of-semester grades for any of their students unless the school reverses the suspensions of 15 students for breaking the law during the anti-Israel demonstrations. The UNC provost recommends sanctions against any instructor who does not turn in grades on time. Which side will blink?
Finally, they unload on Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the Biden administration for torturing language and logic, as Austin claims the 1,000 U.S. military personnel who will be constructing a pier on the Gaza coast will not be considered “boots on the ground.”

Hillsdale College Radio General Manager and Radio Free Hillsdale Hour Host Scot Bertram is in for Jim. Today, Scot and Greg serve up at least one good martini, one that has the potential to be very good, and a really crazy one starring Stacey Abrams.

First, they laugh as new Bloomberg poll numbers show President Biden’s blatant pandering to Muslim voters in Michigan by verbally attacking Israel at every opportunity is showing small signs of success in that state but it’s also causing Donald Trump to grow his lead in virtually every other battleground state.

Next, they are cautiously optimistic about recently passed legislation that forces TikTok’s parent company to sell the app or have it banned in the U.S. TikTok is well documented to be Chinese Communist Party spyware that harvests personal and national security data while getting millions of Americans – especially young people – addicted to the content, much of which is very harmful. But they also want to be sure this new law does not end up stifling online speech in any way.

Then, they get a kick out twice-failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams stating that opposition to the implementation of the DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) agenda in schools is an attack on our democracy. They enjoy seeing how the Democrats now see any position contrary to their agenda as a threat to democracy – and the insanity doesn’t stop there.

Lastly, these two beleaguered Chicago Bears fans look ahead to Thursday’s NFL Draft, in which the Bears have the first pick. Scot is optimistic about the team that’s being assembled and Greg is just waiting to see how the Bears will squander this opportunity.
